Most of my professional career has been in investment management. I received my BA from Dickinson College with majors in German and Economics, and later earned my MBA from the University of Connecticut, concentrating in Accounting and Finance. While pursuing my MBA, I began my career with Aetna, where one of my early roles was as a credit analyst in fixed income. As a credit analyst, I analyzed bonds we were considering for the General Account or for the mutual funds we managed. I then transitioned to a role as a fixed income trader, where I was also given some portfolio management responsibilities. During my time at Aetna, I earned my Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

Following my time at Aetna, I held similar roles at the Hartford Investment Management Company, where I worked as a credit analyst and sector specialist in asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities.

After 17 years in institutional investment management, I made a career change and became a financial advisor. Working with individuals to help them plan for and achieve their financial goals was a welcomed change. I worked with individuals, endowments, and retirement plans for six years before joining Omnica Wealth. At Omnica, I continued working with clients and retirement plans, while also leading our Investment Committee, before fully transitioning to the role of Director of Investment Management in 2021.

As Chief Investment Officer at Omnica Wealth, my primary responsibilities include managing our model portfolios, leading our monthly Investment Committee meetings, reviewing existing and potential investments, and advising on client portfolios. A significant part of my job involves staying informed about the economy and markets, as this knowledge informs our asset allocation, sector weightings, and individual security selections. I also share this information with our advisors.

Professionally, I am passionate about helping our advisors create the best possible portfolios for our clients. We understand that earning a good return is crucial in helping our clients achieve their financial goals. We strive to identify the best investment opportunities while also being mindful of risk. Striking the right balance between risk and reward, given current market conditions, is always a challenge—and it’s what we love.

On the personal side, I love spending time and traveling with my family. My wife, Reine, and I have three children and a granddaughter. Now that our children are adults, our big family trips are even more special. I spent my junior year of college in Germany and another year there after graduation, and I’ve loved traveling ever since.
